Overview
The Digital S/W Engineer Intmd Analyst develops, tests, implements and supports applications across digital software engineering platforms, including microservices, web/Angular and CI/CD. The role applies analytical thinking, professional judgment and application development expertise to deliver secure, stable, testable and maintainable code and support business needs.
What you'll do
- Turn the technology stack and application design into code on multiple development platforms, including microservices, web/Angular and CI/CD.
- Address problems, questions and situations by applying established criteria to influence development outcomes.
- Use appropriate technology to solve technical challenges and deliver small-scale features and functions or support larger program efforts.
- Assist with feasibility studies, time and cost estimates, and implementation of new or revised application systems and programs.
- Perform application systems analysis and programming activities.
- Develop, design, construct, test and implement applications.
- Write secure, stable, testable and maintainable code.
- Engage in digital applications development, risk technology, middleware, mainframe applications, non-mainframe applications, analytic model development and application support activities.
- Consult with users, clients and technology groups on issues and recommend programming solutions for customer-exposed systems.
- Learn the functionality, architecture, dependencies and runtime properties of project systems, including business requirements, applications and services, runtime operations, trouble management, support strategies and maintenance.
- Understand customer use cases and the business context.
- Evaluate system designs and architecture during solution discussions and development.
- Create application and systems documentation.
- Drive system build and performance discussions and provide technical context to team members.
- Represent the team's systems to others inside and outside Digital.
- Build and maintain integrated project development schedules that account for dependencies, differing SDLC approaches, constraints and contingency for unplanned delays.
- Negotiate features and priorities and help the team and customers reach consensus.
- Clearly communicate development and timeline dependencies.
- Improve team development processes to accelerate delivery, drive innovation, lower costs and improve quality.
- Objectively measure productivity, including using SonarQube and Findbugs.
- Automate code quality, code performance, unit testing and build processing in the CI/CD pipeline, including RTC, Jenkins and RLM.
- Assess risk in business decisions, consider the firm's reputation and safeguard Citigroup, its clients and assets.
- Drive compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhere to policy, apply sound ethical judgment and escalate, manage and report control issues transparently.
What you'll need
- 5-8 years in an Apps Development role.
- Bachelor's/University degree or equivalent experience.
- Demonstrated execution capabilities.
- Strong expertise in Java, Microservices and Springboot.
- Strong knowledge of the latest AI tools and trends, with some hands-on experience in the same.
- Strong analytical and quantitative skills.
- Data-driven and results-oriented approach.
- Experience running high-traffic, distributed, cloud-based services.
- Experience affecting large culture change.
- Experience leading infrastructure programs.
- Skill in working with third-party service providers.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
Nice to have
- Experience in database and UI/Angular/React.
