Senior Java Developer, AVP

Overview

Senior Java Developer (AVP) in Pune, India, building and supporting ABACUS, a decision engine used for attribute-based user authorization and regulatory-driven preventative controls across multiple business domains at Deutsche Bank.

What you'll do

• Design and develop new functionality in Java and optionally Kotlin.
• Work with the business and BAs on functional and non-functional requirements.
• Co-work with the QA team on test automation of new and existing functionality.
• Investigate and fix production incidents, and drive stability and monitoring improvements.
• Design and implement subsystems and intersystem protocols.
• Mentor junior engineers and share technical knowledge across the team.
• Take ownership of assigned components and features from design through production delivery and support.

What you'll need

• 8+ years of experience.
• Excellent knowledge of Java.
• Proficiency in high-load distributed systems design, including knowledge of consistency models, API types and trade-offs.
• Good knowledge of algorithms, complexity and data structures.
• Basic knowledge of SQL and relational databases.
• Basic knowledge of modern cloud technologies, i.e. k8s, ArgoCD, Grafana Tanka.
• Basic knowledge of Linux.
• Proven ability to leverage AI tools to enhance productivity and optimize workflows to solve business problems, while applying critical judgment to ensure responsible and ethical use of data and AI outputs.

Nice to have

• Knowing Kotlin.
• Experience with modern SDLC tools: Git, JIRA, Artifactory, Jenkins.
