Senior Manager, Data & AI Architect (Remote)

Overview

Design and govern secure, scalable data and AI architectures supporting analytics, business intelligence, machine learning, generative AI, and operational needs. The role focuses on Databricks Lakehouse solutions and SAP ECC to SAP S/4HANA data modernization.

What you'll do

• Design enterprise data architectures using Databricks and Lakehouse technologies.
• Define Medallion Architecture patterns across Bronze, Silver, and Gold layers.
• Architect semantic layers, data models, ingestion strategies, and integration solutions.
• Support SAP ECC and S/4HANA data migration and modernization initiatives.
• Establish standards for governance, quality, lineage, metadata, security, and observability.
• Create architecture documentation, data-flow diagrams, reference architectures, and technical standards.
• Provide technical leadership and mentorship to data engineering and analytics teams.

What you'll need

• 7+ years of experience in data architecture, data engineering, database architecture, or a related discipline.
• Hands-on experience with Databricks and the Databricks Data Intelligence Platform.
• Strong knowledge of Apache Spark, PySpark, and SQL.
• Experience designing data warehouses, data lakes, or Lakehouse architectures.
• Experience with data modeling and ETL/ELT pipelines.
• Experience with at least one major cloud platform: AWS, Microsoft Azure, or Google Cloud.
• Bachelor's degree with 10+ years of applicable experience, or an advanced degree with 7+ years of applicable experience.

Nice to have

• Experience with Delta Lake, Delta Live Tables/Lakeflow Declarative Pipelines, or Unity Catalog.
• Deep knowledge of SAP modules and related master data structures.
• Experience with batch and real-time streaming architectures.
• Experience designing platforms for AI/ML and generative AI workloads.

• U.S. citizenship is required.
• Salary range: USD 132,400–251,600 yearly.
