Senior Manager, Quality Engineering

Overview

Lead Samsara’s Test Infrastructure and Quality Engineering organization, advancing test infrastructure, automation, product validation, and quality strategy across engineering.

What you'll do

• Lead engineering managers, software engineers, and quality engineers.
• Define the quality engineering vision, strategy, and multi-year roadmap.
• Build scalable test infrastructure, frameworks, environments, data systems, simulators, and CI/CD integrations.
• Establish measurable quality outcomes and release-confidence standards.
• Partner with engineering and product teams to close coverage gaps and prevent regressions.
• Improve automated test reliability, feedback speed, failure diagnosis, and quality signals.
• Hire, coach, and develop high-performing technical and leadership teams.

What you'll need

• 10+ years of relevant software, developer infrastructure, test engineering, or quality engineering experience.
• 5+ years of engineering leadership experience.
• Experience managing managers and organizations containing managers and senior individual contributors.
• Experience building shared test infrastructure, automation frameworks, developer platforms, or quality systems.
• Deep knowledge of unit, integration, contract, end-to-end, performance, reliability, mobile, web, API, and distributed-system testing.
• Experience using metrics and CI/CD quality gates to improve regression prevention and release confidence.
• Strong technical, communication, organizational leadership, and talent-development skills.

• Annual base salary: $162,400–$290,000 USD.
