Senior Manager, Software Development Engineering

Overview

Lead multiple software engineering teams responsible for designing, building, and operating scalable, secure services in Expedia Group's Offers Domain. Set technical direction, deliver complex cross-organizational initiatives, and improve pricing experiences through reliable technology.

What you'll do

• Lead teams building scalable and secure services, including system and API design and data modelling.
• Coordinate complex cross-organizational initiatives and make resource, delivery, and architecture trade-offs.
• Define technical direction and engineering standards across coding, testing, observability, and operations.
• Partner with product and technology leaders to prioritize roadmaps and execute technical plans.
• Hire, coach, and develop engineering managers and senior engineers.
• Oversee production reliability, incident management, root-cause analysis, and SLI/SLO improvement.
• Integrate AI/ML-enabled solutions into real-world products and workflows.

What you'll need

• 8+ years of relevant professional experience.
• 3+ years of people management experience.
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent level.
• Experience owning complex systems through design, implementation, and operations.
• Strong fundamentals in data structures, algorithms, distributed systems, testing, and CI/CD.
• Ability to set technical direction and align stakeholders on high-quality software delivery.

• Technical degree.
• Experience leading multiple engineering teams in a large-scale distributed environment.
• Experience designing high-throughput systems and backward-compatible APIs.
• Experience with SRE, capacity planning, performance optimization, and high availability.
• Experience driving architectural modernization and cloud-native migrations.
