Senior Platform Engineer

Overview

Senior Software Engineer to support Haleon’s Shared Capabilities team by operating and evolving an Azure Kubernetes platform and platform tooling.

What you'll do

• Maintain and evolve the Azure Kubernetes (AKS) platform for high availability, scalability, security, and operational excellence.
• Manage lifecycle of platform components including Kubernetes clusters, networking, storage, and Azure services.
• Build and maintain Infrastructure as Code using Terraform, GitHub Actions, and ArgoCD GitOps practices.
• Automate platform operations to streamline work and improve reliability.
• Provide Level 3 support for incidents and troubleshoot complex Azure, Kubernetes, and deployment issues.
• Support application teams with platform capabilities, architecture patterns, and integration approaches.
• Implement security controls such as RBAC, secrets management, image scanning, and compliance requirements.

What you'll need

• Experience with Microsoft Azure including AKS, networking, storage, identity management, and cloud-native services.
• Kubernetes administration and operations skills including cluster management, scaling, upgrades, troubleshooting, RBAC, and security.
• Infrastructure as Code using Terraform, including experience with reusable modules and large-scale infrastructure.
• CI/CD and GitOps practices using GitHub Actions and ArgoCD.
• Containerization knowledge including Docker and container image management.
• Observability and monitoring experience using logging, metrics, tracing, and alerting tools.
• Scripting/automation experience with PowerShell, Bash, Python, or similar tools.
