Principal Graph Data Engineer- R&D IT

Overview

Lead R&D data and AI engineering to accelerate New Product Introductions through production-grade data platforms and AI solutions.

What you'll do

• Translate R&D needs into scoped, prioritized backlog items and technical roadmap input.
• Define the architecture of R&D data and AI platforms, including governed self-service and maintainability standards.
• Design, build, and operationalize Predictive, Generative, and Agentic AI solutions.
• Lead lakehouse modernization initiatives, including migration from AWS Glue to Databricks and platform integration of AI capabilities.
• Design and deliver large-scale ETL/ELT pipelines with schema management and data lifecycle practices.
• Implement observability, monitoring, evaluation, and cost/performance optimization for data and AI systems.
• Embed security, governance, and compliance controls and mentor engineers via reviews and guidance.

What you'll need

• Master’s degree (or equivalent practical experience) in a relevant technical field.
• 10+ years building and operating large-scale enterprise data platforms with distributed processing.
• 2+ years hands-on experience designing and delivering Generative and Agentic AI solutions.
• Extensive AWS-native data lake experience including S3, Glue, Athena, and Lake Formation.
• Deep hands-on experience designing Databricks ETL pipelines and migrating cloud-native lakes/workflows.
• Strong understanding of Delta Lake internals such as schema evolution and time travel.
• Advanced proficiency in Python and SQL for maintainable, reusable code.
