Senior Principal Software Developer

Overview

Senior Principal Software Developer to help build industrial data and automation platforms for AspenTech’s Inmation team, with hands-on technical leadership.

What you'll do

• Lead and mentor a team of software developers and quality engineers.
• Develop high-performance backend services using C++ and Lua.
• Design and develop distributed, data-intensive systems.
• Create APIs for configuration, diagnostics, and data access.
• Develop solutions connecting industrial systems to cloud platforms.
• Ensure software quality via code reviews, pair programming, and automated testing.

What you'll need

• Strong professional experience with modern C++.
• Deep understanding of data structures and algorithms.
• Deep understanding of concurrent and multithreaded programming.
• Knowledge of operating system fundamentals.
• Familiarity with networking, databases, servers, APIs, and security concepts.

What you'll need

• Experience with scripting languages (Lua, Python, or similar) is required.
• Comfort working in Agile development environments.
