Senior Quality Analyst

Overview

Senior Quality Analyst on the Data & Analytics Solutions IT team, ensuring the reliability and scalability of Springer Nature's digital products such as SpringerMaterials, Experiments, ADIS Insight, and TDM, and collaborating with teams in Germany, UK, and India.

What you'll do

• Architect, develop, and maintain robust, extensible automated testing frameworks aligned with SN-Software Engineering & Systems Integration standards.
• Mentor developers and guide effective testing practices, embedding SN-Quality Management principles across the team.
• Define and communicate best practices, guidelines, and standards for test automation, ensuring compliance with SN-Governance, Risk and Compliance Management.
• Create and manage comprehensive test suite strategies, focusing on high-value scenarios and optimizing reliability.
• Analyze test results, optimize coverage, and uphold application reliability using SN-Data Analytics / Quantitative Skills for evidence-based decisions.
• Collaborate with stakeholders and product managers to align testing with business needs.
• Stay abreast of emerging tools and practices, proactively implementing improvements and process optimization.
• Support global teams in design, implementation, and release from an automation perspective.
• Diagnose live issues and propose innovative solutions to prevent recurrence and strengthen system resilience.
• Guide teammates, onboard new members, and foster knowledge-sharing.

What you'll need

• 6–10 years of experience as a Senior Quality Analyst, Automation Engineer, or similar role.
• Expertise in scalable test automation frameworks and manual testing fundamentals.
• Strong proficiency in programming languages (Java, Scala, Python, JavaScript, React).
• Proven experience with test automation tools (Selenium, Cypress, JUnit, TestNG).
• End-to-end testing experience (UI, API, database).
• Familiarity with API testing tools (Postman, REST Assured).
• Experience with performance testing tools (JMeter, Gatling).
• Strong database testing skills (SQL and NoSQL).
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines (e.g., Jenkins, Concourse).
• Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, and communication skills.

Nice to have

• Experience with accessibility testing tools (Axe, WAVE).
• Exposure to cloud-based testing environments (AWS, Azure, GCP).
• Knowledge of security testing methodologies and tools (Burp Suite).
• Certification in testing methodologies (e.g., ISTQB).
• Experience applying AI/ML techniques to quality assurance workflows (e.g., intelligent test case generation, anomaly detection, predictive defect analysis).
