Senior Security Engineer (Application Security)

Overview

Senior Security Engineer (Application Security) to help expand Tekion’s Application Security Engineering function and embed security across the SDLC.

What you'll do

• Drive application security integration across the software development lifecycle from design to deployment.
• Lead threat modeling and security design reviews for key systems, services, and product features.
• Build security automation in CI/CD pipelines and integrate security tooling (e.g., SAST/DAST/SCA, secrets, IaC, API controls).
• Review and help prioritize security findings from internal testing, third-party assessments, and VAPT exercises.
• Provide developer-facing secure coding guidance, patterns, and best practices.
• Partner with product, engineering, cloud security, and infrastructure teams to remediate risks early.

What you'll need

• 6–9 years of experience in application security, product security, DevSecOps, or security engineering.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or related field (equivalent experience considered).
• Strong understanding of information security fundamentals and clear communication to engineering and product teams.
• Hands-on experience with secure coding, DevSecOps, and security automation.
• Familiarity with application architecture, threat modeling, CI/CD pipelines, IaC, serverless, and IAM.
• Proficiency in at least one programming or scripting language: Python, Bash, Java, JavaScript, or Go.
• Strong collaboration skills and a pragmatic, solution-oriented mindset.
