Senior Semantic Data & Knowledge Engineer

Overview

Design and maintain enterprise knowledge structures, ontologies, semantic assets, metadata frameworks, knowledge graphs and business glossaries that support Analytics, AI, GenAI, Semantic Search and Agentic AI use cases across P&O and Corporate Functions.

What you'll do

• Develop and maintain ontologies, taxonomies, semantic models and business glossaries.
• Define relationships between business concepts, policies, controls, processes and data assets.
• Build and maintain enterprise knowledge graphs and semantic repositories.
• Translate business knowledge into AI-ready semantic structures.
• Support standardization of enterprise business terminology.
• Support metadata onboarding, stewardship, governance and quality initiatives.
• Maintain metadata repositories and catalog assets.
• Support business glossary development and governance processes.
• Collaborate with data stewards, domain owners and governance teams.
• Ensure metadata standards and quality requirements are met.
• Support implementation and maintenance of Semantic Layer capabilities.
• Configure and maintain semantic models and business mappings.
• Support onboarding of business domains and enterprise data products.
• Ensure consistency between source systems and semantic representations.
• Support semantic search and enterprise knowledge discovery initiatives.
• Improve discoverability of structured and unstructured knowledge assets.
• Enable enterprise search experiences powered by semantic technologies.
• Support knowledge repositories used by business users and AI applications.
• Support implementation of RAG and GraphRAG architectures.
• Create and maintain knowledge assets used by AI assistants, copilots and agents.
• Support AI grounding through enterprise knowledge repositories.
• Assist in testing, validation and optimization of AI-enabled knowledge solutions.
• Work closely with business SMEs and domain owners to model business knowledge across P&O, Legal, Security, ERC, ESG, Corporate Affairs, Internal Audit, Corporate Communications and selected Finance domains.
• Support harmonization of definitions, terminology, controls, policies and business concepts.

What you'll need

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Information Management, Computer Science, Data Science, Analytics, AI or a related field.
• 5+ years of experience in Knowledge Management, Metadata Management, Data Governance, Analytics, Semantic Technologies or AI-related domains.
• Experience supporting enterprise data, analytics or AI programs.
• Experience working with metadata, taxonomy, ontology or knowledge management initiatives.
• Technical expertise in AWS Data Platforms.
• Technical expertise in Knowledge Graphs.
• Technical expertise in Ontology Development.
• Technical expertise in Taxonomy Design.
• Technical expertise in RAG / GraphRAG.
• Technical expertise in Vector Databases.

Nice to have

• Technical expertise in Microsoft Fabric, Amazon Neptune, Collibra, Metadata Management, Semantic Layer Technologies, Enterprise Search, AI Knowledge Repositories, and API and Integration Technologies.
• Experience and knowledge in the People & Organization domain: Core HR, Workforce Planning, People Analytics, Talent & Skills Intelligence, Learning & Development, Organizational Effectiveness, Employee Experience.
• Experience and knowledge in Corporate Functions domain: Legal, Security & Information Security, Ethics, Risk & Compliance (ERC), Environmental, Social & Governance (ESG), Corporate Affairs, Internal Audit, Corporate Communications, Finance.
