Overview
Senior Service Engineer responsible for servicing, maintaining, troubleshooting, commissioning, and optimizing air-cooled and water-cooled chiller systems in data centre environments. The role also supports HVAC project execution, customer communication, and technical coordination.
What you'll do
- Perform preventive maintenance and corrective service on screw, scroll, and centrifugal chillers.
- Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and control-related HVAC faults.
- Conduct chiller start-up, commissioning, performance testing, and optimization.
- Coordinate site execution, installation oversight, and contractors for data centre cooling projects.
- Support upgrades, retrofits, and energy-efficiency improvements.
- Prepare service reports, performance logs, root-cause analyses, and 8D reports.
- Provide technical guidance to junior engineers and technicians and communicate with customers.
What you'll need
- 5–10 years of hands-on experience servicing air-cooled and water-cooled chillers.
- Diploma or bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, or a relevant technical field.
- Knowledge of refrigeration cycles, HVAC controls, BMS/EMS integration, and cooling redundancy.
- Experience with HVAC project execution, installation supervision, and commissioning.
- Ability to interpret technical drawings, wiring diagrams, P&IDs, and equipment manuals.
- Ability to diagnose faults using service tools and diagnostic software.
- Strong customer communication and problem-solving skills.
Nice to have
- Experience with mission-critical data centres or large industrial cooling systems.
- OEM-specific chiller training or certifications.
- Knowledge of energy-efficiency programs, retrofits, and performance optimization.
- Project management experience or certification.
Details
- Location: Mumbai/Navi Mumbai, Maharashtra.
- Field-based work at customer locations.
- Shift work, holidays, and public holidays may be required to meet service-level agreements.
- Monthly MOR and quarterly QBR meetings with data centre customers are required.
