Senior Service Engineer - Data Center

Overview

Senior Service Engineer responsible for servicing, maintaining, troubleshooting, commissioning, and optimizing chiller and HVAC systems in data centre environments. The role also supports cooling project execution, customer communication, and technical guidance for junior personnel.

What you'll do

• Service and maintain air-cooled and water-cooled chillers.
• Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and control faults in chiller and HVAC systems.
• Perform start-up, commissioning, performance testing, and system optimization.
• Manage site execution for data centre cooling projects.
• Support upgrades, retrofits, and energy-efficiency improvements.
• Prepare service reports, performance logs, root-cause analyses, and 8D reports.
• Coordinate with customers, contractors, OEM teams, and internal departments.

What you'll need

• 5–10 years of hands-on chiller servicing experience.
• Diploma or bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, or a relevant technical field.
• Knowledge of refrigeration cycles, HVAC controls, BMS/EMS integration, and cooling redundancy.
• Experience with HVAC project execution, installation supervision, and commissioning.
• Ability to interpret technical drawings, wiring diagrams, P&IDs, and equipment manuals.
• Ability to diagnose faults using service tools and diagnostic software.
• Strong customer communication and problem-solving skills.

Nice to have

• Experience with mission-critical data centres or large industrial cooling systems.
• OEM-specific chiller training or certifications.
• Knowledge of energy-efficiency programs, retrofits, and system optimization.
• Project management experience or certification.

Details

• On-site five days per week.
• Location: Mumbai/Navi Mumbai, Maharashtra.
• Shift duties and holiday or festive-season availability are required.
