Senior Site Reliability Engineer

Overview

Engineer the reliability of a highly distributed platform by defining SLOs, leading incident response, and building automation and self-healing systems.

What you'll do

• Lead on-call rotations as the primary technical lead.
• Coordinate major incidents as Incident Commander.
• Instrument code with high-cardinality metrics and distributed traces.
• Define and measure SLOs and error budgets with product owners.
• Build production-ready tooling, automation, and self-healing mechanisms.
• Partner with engineering teams on reliability, scalability, and observability patterns.
• Model capacity needs and test resilience through load testing and chaos experiments.

What you'll need

• At least 5 years of SRE or backend engineering experience.
• Strong coding skills in Java, Go, Rust, or Python.
• Deep understanding of distributed systems and microservices.
• Experience with event-driven architectures and scalable systems.
• Experience with GCP or another major cloud provider.
• Production Kubernetes experience and infrastructure troubleshooting skills.
• Experience with observability tools and production data stores or streaming platforms.
