Software Engineer - Crypto

Overview

Software Engineer responsible for architecting, implementing, and maintaining systems and services supporting Alpaca Crypto, including high-throughput trading infrastructure.

What you'll do

• Design, build, and maintain crypto exchange and market-making systems
• Develop crypto wallet, funding, and tokenization services
• Implement backend services and web applications
• Maintain software quality and test coverage
• Participate in code reviews
• Troubleshoot incidents and reported bugs
• Assist with timely engineering projects through on-call support when required

What you'll need

• At least 4 years of backend software development experience
• Experience building crypto systems
• Knowledge of trading systems and regulated, fault-tolerant financial systems
• Experience with a modern programming language such as Go, C, or C++
• Experience with messaging queues and message brokers
• SQL or relational database skills
• Hands-on knowledge of Bash, Linux, and Docker

Nice to have

• Kubernetes experience or CKA/CKAD certification
• DevOps experience
• CI/CD experience
• Experience with AWS, GCP, or Azure
• Knowledge of Agile/Scrum methodologies
• Knowledge of microservice architectures
• Knowledge of clean code principles
