Software Engineer (Repositories)

Overview

Build and operate backend systems for customer-facing package registries, APIs, and artifact-serving infrastructure. Develop Go services that securely and reliably serve software artifacts at scale.

What you'll do

• Build and improve customer-facing registries, APIs, and artifact-serving systems.
• Deliver projects from technical design through testing, rollout, monitoring, and iteration.
• Develop and operate backend services in Go.
• Improve scalability, reliability, observability, performance, and load testing.
• Participate in decisions about service boundaries, APIs, data flows, and operational patterns.
• Investigate and resolve production issues.

What you'll need

• 2+ years of experience building software.
• Experience with backend or infrastructure systems.
• Experience with Go or the ability to learn Go quickly.
• Experience taking software projects from implementation through testing and release.
• Familiarity with testing, code review, debugging, and version control.
• Exposure to deploying or operating production services.
• Clear communication and a collaborative approach in a remote environment.

Nice to have

• 5+ years building and operating production backend or infrastructure systems.
• Experience with cloud infrastructure or infrastructure-as-code tools such as Terraform.
• Experience owning backend or infrastructure projects through production operation.
• Experience with package registries, artifact repositories, APIs, developer platforms, or high-scale serving systems.
• Strong judgment regarding reliability, observability, performance, security, and operational tradeoffs.

Details

• Remote role in Canada.
• Base salary: USD 170,000–231,000 yearly.
