Software Engineer- Money Movement

Overview

Software Engineer for Coinbase’s Money Movement team, focused on building backend infrastructure for stablecoin-based global payments.

What you'll do

• Own key projects end-to-end as the Directly Responsible Individual (DRI).
• Design and build backend systems and APIs for stablecoin-based pay-ins, payouts, deposits, and withdrawals.
• Enable businesses and partners to embed stablecoin-powered payments into their products via internal/external APIs.
• Collaborate with Product, Design, Infrastructure, and Compliance to translate requirements into scalable solutions.
• Improve performance, scalability, and reliability across distributed systems and resolve bottlenecks.
• Support engineering quality through code reviews, architectural best practices, and shared patterns.

What you'll need

• 2+ years of software engineering experience building and operating backend systems.
• Backend language proficiency (e.g., Go, Java).
• Cloud infrastructure proficiency (e.g., AWS, GCP).
• Experience designing distributed systems and APIs.
• Experience integrating with or building crypto technologies such as stablecoins, on-chain payments, or smart contract platforms (e.g., Ethereum, Solana, Base).
• Ability to write technical design documents and communicate architecture trade-offs.
• Ability to utilize generative AI responsibly with human oversight.
