Senior Software Developer

Overview

Senior Software Developer role at Loopio, leading and building end-to-end features for the platform and working closely with Engineering, Product and Design teams.

What you'll do

• Lead and rapidly build end-to-end features from scratch for Loopio's platform.
• Design and ship reusable frameworks and shared libraries that raise the bar for how every team builds.
• Proactively build technology to prevent bugs as they come up.
• Interact with and gather detailed feedback from customers to create a user-centric experience.
• Partner closely with the ML team to design, integrate, and productionise AI agents and knowledge-graph capabilities, turning research prototypes into reliable, well-evaluated features.
• Mentor and coach others, providing technical guidance and encouraging knowledge-sharing and feedback.
• Contribute to Loopio's AI roadmap by evaluating third-party models, establishing patterns for agentic workflows and knowledge-graph-grounded retrieval, and defining technical and evaluation guidelines for AI-powered features.
• Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve software defects through testing, and develop and maintain automated tests to ensure high-quality, consistent releases.

What you'll need

• 6+ years of professional software development experience.
• Proven track record of designing and delivering complex software systems at scale.
• Strong experience in backend/API development in Python, Java or PHP.
• Strong understanding of database design and RDBMS such as MySQL or similar.
• Proficient in using and designing scalable RESTful APIs.
• Mentorship to other engineers through coaching, design, and code reviews.
• Exposure to AI technologies, particularly around Agents and LLMs (e.g., OpenAI, Claude, etc.), embeddings, or natural language processing.
• Comfortable guiding technical design discussions and facilitating technical decision making.
• A growing passion for driving processes and improving software development productivity for your team.
• Experience designing and consuming RESTful APIs and integrating with third-party systems.
• Experience in frontend development, with a solid understanding of React and JavaScript.
• Experience with AWS cloud infrastructure and core services (e.g., EC2, RDS, S3, VPC, ECS/Fargate, and Lambda) to build, deploy, and scale resilient cloud-native applications.

Nice to have

• Experience in Typescript, Cypress, Elasticsearch.
• Prior work in building or integrating intelligent features, such as semantic search, RAG and integration with third-party apps.

• Remote-first role based in India; India hub employees work 11 am - 7:30 pm IST to overlap with teams in Canada and the UK.
• Collaboration is virtual across the UK, India and North America, with core sync hours and focus time during the workday.
• Loopio is HQ'd in Canada with hub regions in Canada, India (HQ in Ahmedabad) and England (London).
