Senior Software Engineer

Overview

Senior Software Engineer role at Finastra, designing, developing and maintaining high-quality software solutions for financial services, working with cross-functional teams to deliver scalable applications.

What you'll do

• Participate in software design discussions and analyze user requirements to define technical solutions.
• Design, develop, and maintain high-quality, scalable code.
• Test, debug, and resolve application issues in a timely manner.
• Collaborate closely with stakeholders to identify and fix defects efficiently.
• Follow established Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) processes and best practices.
• Support product releases and provide ongoing maintenance and issue resolution.
• Work with internal teams to troubleshoot and resolve program-related challenges.
• Contribute to additional projects and responsibilities as assigned.

What you'll need

• 6-8 years of hands-on experience in software design and development.
• Strong experience in Java 8, 21 / J2EE.
• Strong experience in Spring Boot and Spring Cloud.
• Knowledge of RESTful APIs.
• Knowledge of SQL and database design.
• Good understanding of software development methodologies and SDLC.
• Ability to independently solve moderately complex technical problems.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and coding skills.
• Proficiency in relevant programming languages and frameworks.
• Effective communication skills (both verbal and written).
• Strong customer-focused mindset.
• Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team.
• Capability to manage multiple tasks and priorities effectively.

Nice to have

• Familiarity with Azure.
• Familiarity with Oracle Database 19C.
• Familiarity with Hibernate and JPA.
• Familiarity with distributed systems and caching technologies.
• Familiarity with messaging platforms (e.g., MQ, Kafka).
• Financial industry domain experience, i.e. Cross Border Payments experience.
