Overview
Build and operate enterprise-scale observability platforms for monitoring, logging, and tracing across Visa’s hybrid and cloud environments. The role focuses on distributed systems, automation, reliability, security, performance, and operational readiness.
What you'll do
- Develop scalable monitoring, logging, and tracing solutions.
- Build platform services, automation, APIs, and self-service capabilities.
- Support large-scale deployments, modernization, and continuous improvement.
- Partner with engineering teams to improve instrumentation, telemetry adoption, and production readiness.
- Apply Infrastructure-as-Code, CI/CD, and GitOps practices.
- Perform root cause analysis, performance optimization, capacity planning, and resiliency improvements.
- Contribute through design reviews, code reviews, knowledge sharing, and mentorship.
What you'll need
- At least 2 years of relevant experience with a Bachelor’s degree, or 5+ years of relevant experience.
- Experience developing production software in Golang, Python, or Java.
- Experience designing, building, or operating distributed systems or platform services.
- Understanding of system architecture, reliability, performance, security, and automation principles.
- Experience collaborating across engineering teams and communicating technical concepts clearly.
- Analytical and troubleshooting skills for complex engineering problems.
Nice to have
- Experience with observability across metrics, logs, and traces.
- Familiarity with OpenTelemetry, Prometheus, Grafana, Fluent Bit, Elastic/OpenSearch, or Splunk.
- Experience with Kubernetes, Docker, Terraform, GitHub Actions, Ansible, GitOps, or CI/CD automation.
- Experience operating or scaling platforms in AWS, Azure, GCP, or hybrid environments.
