Senior Software Engineer

Overview

Senior Software Engineer role at Sustainalytics, a Morningstar company, building data- and computation-intensive sustainability research and back-office digital solutions.

What you'll do

• Implement high complexity full stack solutions, improve existing features and code maintainability.
• Contribute to the development of new products using .NET Core and other software frameworks.
• Implement solutions based on requirements within estimated timeframes.
• Collaborate with product management teams in different parts of the world to achieve and extend the overall product vision.
• Research and propose different solutions and possible enhancements.
• Solve reported issues.

What you'll need

• 4+ years of experience with .NET Framework, .NET Core, C#, PostgreSQL, Microservices, REST APIs, architectural design patterns, software design patterns, Hangfire, Pentaho ETL.
• 4+ years of experience with Angular and TypeScript or other JavaScript frameworks.
• Leverage AI-powered software engineering tools (e.g., GitHub Copilot, ChatGPT, Amazon Q) to accelerate code development, testing, debugging, documentation, and code reviews while maintaining high standards of quality and security.
• Drive adoption of AI-assisted development practices across the SDLC, establishing best practices, governance, and measurable productivity improvements for engineering teams.
• University degree (preferably in a science related subject or in engineering).
• Any other evidence of your passion for building great software.

Nice to have

• DevOps skills working with AWS/Azure.
• Python knowledge.
• Knowledge of how software automation works.
• An understanding of cloud computing technologies, including Software as a Service solutions leveraging Microsoft and/or Amazon technology.
• Prior experience with No-SQL databases.
• Knowledge/prior experience in machine learning.

• Location: Mumbai.
• Hybrid work model; in most locations, four days in-office each week.
