Senior Software Engineer

Overview

Senior Software Engineer role at First American (India), a GCC of First American Financial Corporation, building web-based title insurance, settlement and mortgage applications using a Microsoft-predominant stack.

What you'll do

• Probe to gauge the stated and unstated needs of the client before translating complex functional requirements into system requirements.
• Develop web-based applications by adhering to coding standards and guidelines, following a continuous Build-Integrate-Test (Agile) approach.
• Understand the software development lifecycle and the overall application development space, combined with understanding of the business and domain.
• Create basic project plans for small projects and take ownership of modules to develop features independently using available stacks.
• Apply standard troubleshooting and debugging concepts to achieve speed and efficiency, and review code and suggest enhancements.
• Design and develop basic DB solutions, establish database objects and perform performance tuning.
• Work with Configuration Management tools to enforce CM practices and processes.
• Adhere to the QA standards defined by the organization, with a deep understanding of performance bottlenecks, production infrastructure, interfaces and dependencies of the product.

What you'll need

• Graduate or Postgraduate in Computer Science or Information Technology.
• Minimum of 4+ years of hands-on experience.
• Understanding and hands-on experience with ASP.NET, MVC / React JS, and TypeScript.
• Strong hands in .NET / Python.
• Strong hands in TypeScript and React JS.
• Managing source code with Git.
• Knowledge of Jira with Agile/Scrum.
• Strong knowledge of AWS.
• Knowledge of PostgreSQL and DynamoDB.
• Knowledge of microservice architecture.
• Excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills to interact with customers, onshore counterparts, supervisors, team members, business analysts and business teams.

Nice to have

• Hands-on experience with AI tools such as Cursor and Claude Code.
• Node.js.
• Knowledge of OpenAPI/Swagger.
