Senior Software Engineer

Overview

Mastercard is seeking a Senior Software Engineer (Software Development Engineer II) to own application-level development, testing and deployment tasks.

What you'll do

• Own tasks (dev, test, deployment) at an application/software component level
• Troubleshoot and refactor existing code
• Adopt new languages and architecture patterns needed for the work
• Influence the decisions made by the team
• Demonstrate active learning
• Understand requirement analysis and partner with peers to participate in elaboration, prioritization, and effort estimation
• Help and assist peers and other team members

What you'll need

• Degree in Computer Science or related Engineering field
• Hands-on knowledge of Java, Spring Boot and Microservices (REST API), SQL Queries
• Understanding of basic design patterns
• Understanding of Continuous Integration (CI) and Delivery (CD) concepts and capabilities to support automation, pipelines, virtualization
• Strong written and verbal English communication skills
• Strong analytical and excellent problem-solving skills
• Experience working in an Agile environment
• Experience with TDD and BDD in the software development processes
• Awareness of own strengths and areas of improvement, and seeks out additional feedback and suggestions for improvement
