Senior Software Engineer, Backend (Consumer - Growth Foundations)

Overview

Senior Software Engineer, Backend on the Growth Foundations team, responsible for building scalable infrastructure for notifications, incentives, referrals, targeting, lifecycle communications, and ML ranking.

What you'll do

• Design and deliver scalable distributed backend services.
• Architect service-oriented systems across backend, data, and ML layers.
• Translate product and technical vision into quarterly roadmaps.
• Lead developer tooling and shared platform investments.
• Build tested production code for secure, reliable systems.
• Build and iterate on growth features for user acquisition and retention.

What you'll need

• 5+ years of professional backend software engineering experience.
• Expertise in server-side architecture, performance, security, and scalability.
• Experience with containerized environments such as AWS, Kubernetes, or Docker.
• Ability to design and run growth experiments or A/B tests.
• Experience with databases, caching layers, and storage solutions.
• Experience delivering solutions from scoping through production monitoring.

Details

• Remote role in Canada.
• Quarterly in-person working sessions called surges are expected.
• Annual base salary: CAD 191,100.
