Senior Software Engineer, Frontend (Platform - Identity)

Overview

Senior Software Engineer, Frontend on Coinbase’s Identity Horizontal team within the Platform group, owning user-facing authentication experiences.

What you'll do

• Lead end-to-end frontend delivery for login, signup, OAuth, account security, and multi-user/multi-organization support.
• Author and review technical design documents and create executable plans for complex initiatives.
• Drive the Native vs. Webview architecture strategy for authentication surfaces.
• Identify and resolve technical debt and code quality issues across the team codebase.
• Lead team rituals including on-call, code reviews, and incident response.
• Mentor L04 engineers on frontend craft and ownership.

What you'll need

• 5+ years of production frontend engineering experience with React and TypeScript.
• Experience independently leading end-to-end delivery of ambiguous, complex projects.
• Authored and driven technical design documents through cross-functional review and implementation on 2-3 major initiatives.
• Ability to identify and resolve systemic technical debt with measurable improvements.
• Experience mentoring engineers and leading team rituals (on-call, code review standards, incident response).
• Utilizes generative AI responsibly with human oversight for business-ready outputs.
