Senior Software Engineer-Golang-API Gateway

Overview

Senior Software Engineer responsible for designing, developing, and operating FactSet’s API Gateway.

What you'll do

• Build and run centralized gateway capabilities like routing, service discovery, rate limiting/quotas, and policy enforcement.
• Implement dual-auth and token-exchange flows, including auth validation, caching, replay protection, and trust store management.
• Develop gateway extensions/filters using Lua (NGINX/OpenResty) and GO for authN/Z, token exchange, request shaping, and telemetry.
• Set up mTLS to backends and standardize API registration/onboarding patterns with discovery integrations.
• Automate multi-region deployments on AWS with IaC and CI/CD, including blue/green and canary releases.
• Plan and run hybrid/multi-region topologies with global routing, health checks, failover, and DR/chaos drills.

What you'll need

• 7+ years of experience building backend/platform systems with traffic management or API platform experience.
• Strong Go development and Lua experience with NGINX/OpenResty.
• Deep hands-on experience with Docker/Kubernetes and AWS services including EKS/EC2, ALB/NLB, Route 53, and VPC/private networking.
• Experience with CloudWatch/CloudTrail.
• Knowledge of infrastructure-as-code and CI/CD pipelines.
• Strong Linux fundamentals and scripting using Bash/Python, plus debugging and performance tuning skills.
