Senior Software Engineer I

Overview

Senior Software Engineer I responsible for designing and building secure, scalable, high-performance backend systems and services supporting Disney’s technology ecosystem.

What you'll do

• Architect and implement highly available applications, services, and libraries.
• Build secure systems across cloud and on-premises environments.
• Develop backend services, front-end UI, APIs, and command-line tools.
• Collaborate with product managers, engineers, and stakeholders on roadmap goals.
• Improve observability, alerting, and service reliability.
• Provide secure access to secret management tools.
• Maintain documentation for adoption, governance, and compliance auditing.

What you'll need

• 5+ years of professional software development experience.
• Experience implementing complex distributed systems.
• Experience delivering highly available, mission-critical production services.
• Proficiency in at least one modern programming language.
• Experience with microservices, event-driven systems, and containerization.
• Proficiency with a cloud platform such as AWS, GCP, or Azure.
• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant technical field or equivalent work experience.

Nice to have

• Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field.
• AWS experience.
• Experience designing internet-scale platforms.
• Open-source contributions or a technical portfolio.
