What you'll do
- Actively participate in the entire iOS application lifecycle, from concept and design through development, testing, release and maintenance.
- Design, implement and maintain features on the iOS app platform using Swift and SwiftUI.
- Conceptualize and build apps that work well across all Apple devices and screen sizes, including iPhone and iPad.
- Develop features that communicate with IoT hardware such as access control readers, locks and sensors over Bluetooth Low Energy (Core Bluetooth) and NFC (Core NFC).
- Implement and maintain Apple Wallet integrations, including PassKit and in-app pass provisioning for mobile access credentials.
- Build robust networking layers to integrate with REST APIs and backend services, handling authentication, error states, retries and offline scenarios.
- Implement security best practices to protect user data and credentials, including Keychain, Secure Enclave, encryption and certificate pinning.
- Implement and maintain push notifications (APNs / FCM) and background tasks.
- Collaborate with UI/UX designers, software testers, backend engineers and hardware teams to ensure app presentation and functionality meet requirements and Apple's Human Interface Guidelines.
- Write clean, testable code; review peers' code and rectify errors before app releases.
- Profile and optimize app performance, memory usage and battery consumption.
- Own and improve iOS CI/CD pipelines, code signing, provisioning profiles and TestFlight / App Store release processes.
- Monitor app reviews, crash reports and analytics to identify areas for improvement.
- Recommend and implement process and technology improvements.
- Provide training, mentorship and support to team members.

- Experience with Apple Wallet and PassKit, including in-app pass provisioning and mobile credential workflows.
- Solid understanding of networking: REST APIs, URLSession, asynchronous request handling, JSON parsing, authentication (OAuth, tokens) and offline storage/sync.
- Security background: Keychain, Secure Enclave, biometric authentication (Face ID / Touch ID), data encryption, certificate/SSL pinning, and awareness of OWASP Mobile Top 10.
- Good understanding of multithreading using GCD, OperationQueue and Swift Concurrency.
- Experience with background tasks and background execution modes on iOS.
- Knowledge of iOS memory management (ARC, retain cycles, weak/unowned references) and performance profiling with Instruments.
- Experience with push notifications using APNs and Firebase Cloud Messaging (FCM).
- Experience with local storage such as Core Data, Realm or SQLite.
- Familiarity with agile development techniques and CI/CD for iOS (e.g., Fastlane, GitHub Actions, Jenkins, Bitrise or Xcode Cloud), code signing and App Store Connect / TestFlight.
