Senior Software Engineer II, Route Planning

Overview

Senior Software Engineer II on the Route Planning team, building next-generation route planning products that help customers recover plan efficiency and handle same-day order surges.

What you'll do

• Design and build features end to end, from frontend to backend, that work across diverse customer bases, from grocery delivery to oil and gas.
• Leverage AI with strong judgement, knowing when to build a prototype to unblock a stalled customer deal or accelerate a refactor that reduces risk of incidents.
• Partner with the engineering manager and staff engineers to advocate for technical excellence on the team.
• Work with the product manager and designer to build interfaces and APIs that make a planner's work more efficient.
• Mentor junior engineers on the team and help build a strong technical bench.
• Help measure efficiency of plans across Routing products, including route execution and commercial navigation.

What you'll need

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience.
• 6+ years of experience as a software engineer.
• Demonstrated ability executing in ambiguous environments.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, navigating conversations with a technical audience or a customer.

Nice to have

• Proven experience shaping and improving routing and navigation products.
• A passion for mentoring and helping junior engineers grow.
• A track record of thriving in 0→1 teams and scaling them through the post–startup phase.
• Experience operating as a tech lead or in a similar technical role directly impacting output of other engineers.
• Willingness to engage directly with customers when needed.

Details

• Remote position open to candidates residing in the US and Canada.
• Relocation assistance will not be provided.
• Annual base salary $154,700 — $260,000 USD, varying by pay zone, city of residence, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
• Eligible for an initial RSU grant with no vesting cliff, plus ongoing refresh opportunities subject to plan terms.
