Senior Software Engineer (Onboarding & Activation)

Overview

Own the back-end systems powering onboarding, activation, trials, paywalls, and entitlement gating from first run through conversion. Partner with Billing and other teams to ensure access, payment, privacy, and security decisions are correct.

What you'll do

• Build trial initiation, lifecycle, and eligibility logic.
• Maintain entitlement and upgrade paywall gating.
• Design services and data models for onboarding and activation progress.
• Coordinate API contracts with the Billing team.
• Design testable services with explicit success, error, conflict, and unhandled outcomes.
• Implement safe, backwards-compatible schema and data-access changes.
• Review pull requests and partner with front-end, Product, and AppSec.

What you'll need

• 6–10 years of back-end software engineering experience.
• Experience owning services and event/state-transition logic with minimal guidance.
• C#/.NET and ASP.NET Core strongly preferred.
• Strong experience with Java, Kotlin, Go, or a similar statically typed stack is acceptable.
• Experience with correctness-critical event handling, SQL, and safe schema changes.
• Experience with subscription, trial, or entitlement systems and cross-team API integration.
• Experience with feature-flagged rollouts and large, high-traffic monorepos.
