Senior Software Engineer – Python, Data Platform

Overview

Senior Software Engineer (Python, Data Platform) to own and evolve Python-based workflows and applications powering a data platform.

What you'll do

• Build and maintain production-grade Python applications and integrations for business workflow automation.
• Own and improve Python ETL frameworks, Airflow DAGs, and orchestration patterns.
• Integrate internal/external systems including Snowflake, DynamoDB, CRM, ecommerce platforms, and third-party APIs.
• Ensure critical workflows are observable, reliable, testable, and maintainable.
• Modernize legacy ETLs using pragmatic refactoring, reusable libraries, and AI-assisted development where appropriate.
• Define data quality patterns and frameworks such as Great Expectations.
• Set Python architecture standards and mentor engineers to improve code quality.

What you'll need

• 6-9 years of professional software development experience.
• Hands-on Python application development experience in critical production environments.
• Experience with data-driven applications, ETL workflows, data pipelines, or platform integrations.
• Strong Python best practices knowledge including testing, packaging, error handling, observability, and maintainability.
• SQL proficiency and relational data modeling concepts.
• Experience working in Agile software development environments.
• Ability to operate independently and mentor engineers.

Nice to have

• Experience with Snowflake or comparable modern cloud data warehouse platforms.
• Familiarity with Airflow or other workflow orchestration tools.
• Knowledge of modern data architecture patterns and data quality frameworks.
• Experience using AI-assisted development workflows.
