Senior Software Engineering Manager

Overview

Senior Software Engineering Manager responsible for growing, sustaining, and enhancing the Software Engineering function within Medtronic’s Global R&D organization.

What you'll do

• Direct software development for MEIC to ensure product performance and quality.
• Manage MEIC project delivery, including cross-functional alignment on goals and timelines.
• Report progress and project costs, and prepare/monitor annual budgets.
• Lead AI/ML adoption and integration across R&D to accelerate product development cycles.
• Embed shift-left quality, security, and performance testing into the SDLC.
• Establish modern DevOps practices and continuous deployment pipelines.
• Manage people leaders and champion a culture of success.

What you'll need

• 18+ years of applicable work experience in SW product development and global teams.
• 8+ years of hands-on software development experience implementing complex architectures.
• 5+ years of software engineering management with people and project management.
• Experience managing larger software teams with engineering managers as direct reports.
• Experience delivering concurrent software releases using iterative/agile techniques.
• Bachelor of Engineering/B.Tech in specified engineering fields, or equivalent; AI specialization/certification.
• Fluency in English.

• Travel requirement: up to 15% internationally and domestically.
