Senior Specialist, Data Analytics

Overview

Senior Specialist in Data Analytics supporting the FP&A team and senior stakeholders with ad-hoc and analytics projects, translating business requirements to data science and engineering colleagues, and validating outputs.

What you'll do

• Work with senior stakeholders to understand requirements for ad-hoc requests and analytics projects, and identify whether they can be delivered within existing capabilities.
• Define data requirements for the analysis to be done.
• Perform data exploration as needed to define the problem to be solved.
• Support the FP&A team with ad-hoc analysis during time-sensitive projects.
• Translate business requirements to data science and data engineering colleagues and communicate how the designed solution meets the brief.
• Act as solution validation and QC for output delivered by the data science team.
• Act as business intelligence analyst for dashboards that need to be built.
• Work on Excel (Advanced), Power BI and SQL as needed for data exploration.
• Interface with tactical teams to obtain data from disparate sources.
• Keep abreast of macro and micro economic factors that may impact business performance.
• Identify opportunities to build sustainable analytical solutions (dashboards, automation, possible use of advanced analysis or AI) within the finance domain.
• Perform other activities as assigned by your manager.

What you'll need

• Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• 5+ years of industry and/or relevant experience, typically with 1+ years in an Associate level role or external equivalent.
• Experience working with global organizations, either as part of the finance function or analytics team.
• Conversant with finance terminology and finance functions of FP&A, accounting etc., and has worked with stakeholders on problems involving data.
• Strong written and oral communication, as the role involves working with US-based stakeholders to understand requirements and propose solutions.
• Advanced Excel and an interest in data science/statistics.
• Self-starter who looks for out-of-the-box options to solve both ad-hoc requirements and systemic challenges.
• Comfortable working with data science and engineering colleagues and translating domain knowledge into solution requirements.

Nice to have

• Experience in FP&A or Finance Analytics.

• Location: Bengaluru.
• Annual full-time base salary range is referenced but no amount is stated; compensation determined through interviews and review of education, experience, skills, location and market data.
• May be eligible for a discretionary bonus.
