Job description

Overview

The Senior Data Analyst combines SQL modeling and statistical skills to deliver actionable insights, recommendations, and data access improvements. The role maintains core business dashboards, leads analytics projects, and builds and maintains AI-driven tooling and automations.

What you'll do

  • Provide descriptive and diagnostic analysis to inform product and go-to-market decision-making, evaluate performance, and make tactical recommendations.
  • Discuss questions and hypotheses with external and internal customers based on deep data analysis, acting as the G2 Data SME, and turn them into analysis and insights.
  • Develop effective data models to enable ease of access and consistency of data across the organization.
  • Partner with cross-functional stakeholders to translate business requirements and questions into clean dataset transformations and structured analytics reports.
  • Use AI tools such as Claude/ChatGPT and Looker/Snowflake AI integrations to accelerate exploratory analysis, QA, and documentation of findings.
  • Use BI tools to empower end users with timely, accurate, and informative data and visualizations.
  • Design dashboards to monitor KPIs and business drivers and ensure all metrics are consistent with business strategy.
  • Maintain documentation standards for every report and dashboard, including purpose, refresh cadence, KPI definitions, data sources, and support contact.
  • Develop and maintain LookML views and explores in Looker, ensuring consistency and ease of data access across the organization.
  • Use Snowflake SQL, including semantic views, joins, CTEs, and query performance, to build, validate, and reason about the data underneath every view.
  • Build, maintain, and iterate on AI-powered skills, agents, and automations that expand self-service access to data for Sales, Vendor, and Marketing stakeholders.
  • Partner cross-functionally on AI/LLM-enabled reporting initiatives, owning the data and technical build.
  • Evaluate and pilot new AI tools and workflows and document best practices for the wider analytics team.
  • Lead team discussions and collaborate with technical and non-technical team members to solve business problems.
  • Provide guidance and coaching to junior team members on complex datasets, models, and business requirements.
  • Identify opportunities to improve reporting and additional data management tasks discovered in analysis.
  • Support and guide project-based work using analytic tools to produce datasets for analysis.

What you'll need

  • 4+ years experience in data analysis roles.
  • Experience designing dashboards and enabling self-serve analytics through Business Intelligence tooling such as Looker and Amplitude.
  • Experience with relational database modeling and/or building reporting layers within Business Intelligence tooling, including tabular and multidimensional layers.
  • Adept with Postgres and SQL databases, including a strong understanding of different join use cases within a relational database and CTE performance scripting.
  • Experience performing QA on complex SQL queries for bugs, optimization, and performance.
  • Experience working in an agile environment with multiple stakeholder teams.
  • Ability to tell stories with data and convey insights, demonstrated through experience with presentations and cross-functional projects.
  • Experience with A/B testing, product analytics, or making data-driven decisions.
  • Comfort using AI tools such as Claude and ChatGPT day-to-day to accelerate data analysis, QA, and documentation.
  • Hands-on experience with Looker, including LookML, and Snowflake SQL / SV / syntax and DDL, required to build, maintain, and validate BI models and views.
  • Desire to make an impact on the business, engage in interesting problems, and craft innovative solutions.

Nice to have

  • Exposure to building or maintaining AI-powered tooling, skills, or automations, such as LLM-based agents or scripts that enable self-service data access, is a strong plus.
  • Experience in User Generated Content (UGC) or in the software industry is preferred.
  • Statistical programming experience with R and/or Python for solving holistic or undefined business questions is a plus.
  • Familiarity with web/conversion analytics tooling such as Google Analytics is a plus.
  • Prior experience building AI agents, prompts, or LLM-powered internal tools is good to have.
