Overview
Staff/Principal AI Engineer on Snowflake’s Cortex Code team, building coding agents for working with data.
What you'll do
- Define agent behavior strategy and quality stack pillars for next-generation agentic coding tasks.
- Design and evolve pipelines/tooling for large-scale experimentation and prompt/tool/workflow iteration.
- Lead postmortems for quality regressions by clustering failure modes and translating insights into a prioritized roadmap.
- Partner cross-functionally to align on what “good” means for critical customer workflows and how to evaluate them.
- Ensure production-grade rigor with reproducible runs, stable datasets, versioning, and operational clarity when systems drift.
- Mentor engineers and improve eval craft across the team.
What you'll need
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Statistics, or a related field.
- 10+ years of experience shipping AI/ML-backed software in production with Staff-level ownership and cross-team delivery.
- Track record building and operating eval harnesses, measurement, and/or experimentation loops for LLM/agent systems.
- Proficiency in at least two of Python, TypeScript, and Go.
- Exceptional communication skills for crisp write-ups and influencing without authority.
- (Optional) Experience with data engineering pipelines, data modeling, data analysis, retrieval systems, and semantic layers is a plus.
