Senior Staff Software Development Engineer

Overview

Senior Staff Software Development Engineer on the Unified API platform team, reporting to the Senior Director, Software Development Engineering, to deliver a unified API and developer platform for Zscaler products.

What you'll do

• Deliver a unified API and developer platform for Zscaler products, focusing on standardization, governance, and a seamless developer experience
• Create and refine API development and integration processes, tools, and methodologies across Zscaler's product portfolio
• Lead the creation of a scalable distributed API platform that is highly available, observable, and operable

What you'll need

• Foundational understanding of AI/ML technologies and experience leveraging, securing, or positioning AI-driven solutions to optimize outcomes within your functional domain
• 10+ years of experience in the architecture, design, and development of API frameworks and technologies
• Experience creating SDKs and designing APIs, following API-first design principles, standards, and best practices
• Solid background in message brokers, caches, queues, and pub/sub concepts
• Proficiency in at least one programming language (Go, Java, C++, Rust, Go, Javascript etc)

Nice to have

• Experience implementing AIOps, AI-driven predictive scaling, or automated anomaly detection to optimize cloud infrastructure performance and reliability
• Demonstrated ability to work with product managers on external-facing products and roadmap development
• Dynamic collaboration with cross-functional teams and product managers
