Senior Staff Software Engineer, Platform - IAM

Overview

Senior Staff Software Engineer for Platform IAM, owning end-to-end IAM technical strategy across workforce, AI agent, and service/workload identity.

What you'll do

• Own the multi-year IAM technical strategy and unified architecture for shared auth, authorization, provisioning, and governance primitives.
• Drive architecture decisions across multiple pods and teams by setting standards, review bars, and integration contracts.
• Lead adoption strategy for 700+ systems, including sequencing, migration paths, and build-vs-buy decisions.
• Partner with Security, Compliance, IT, Infrastructure, and product engineering to translate audit/regulatory requirements into automated controls and evidence.
• Lead data model and tooling to determine who has access to what and why, reducing standing privilege.
• Mentor staff and senior engineers to grow the org’s identity engineering depth.

What you'll need

• 12+ years of software engineering experience with multi-year, platform-level architecture leadership across multiple teams.
• Deep IAM expertise across more than one domain, including workforce identity or non-human identity.
• Production Go experience and distributed systems design on AWS.
• Fluency with identity protocols/standards including OAuth 2.0, OIDC, SAML, SCIM, and workload identity patterns.
• Proven influence without authority at senior levels on org-wide access-risk problems.
• Ability to translate audit and regulatory requirements into automated technical controls with clear executive communication.
• Responsible use of generative AI with human oversight for measurable workflow improvements.
