Overview
Senior Water Resources Modelling Engineer to lead complex hydrologic and hydraulic modelling and flood risk and water resources studies.
What you'll do
- Lead development, calibration, validation, and interpretation of hydrologic and hydraulic models using HEC-HMS and HEC-RAS (1D/2D).
- Deliver Flood Risk Assessments (FRA), Flood Forecasting & Early Warning Systems (FFEWS), watershed management, river engineering, and urban stormwater projects.
- Perform hydrologic and hydraulic analyses including rainfall-runoff modelling, floodplain management, drainage design, dam break assessments, and reservoir operation studies.
- Conduct geospatial analysis with ArcGIS/QGIS for DEM processing, terrain analysis, flood inundation mapping, and spatial database management.
- Prepare flood hazard/depth/velocity/risk mapping deliverables.
- Provide technical oversight and QA for modelling studies, engineering calculations, technical reports, and documentation.
- Interface with clients, government agencies, funding institutions, and other stakeholders; support proposal and client presentation activities.
What you'll need
- 8-10 years of professional experience in Hydrology, Hydraulics, Flood Risk Management, and Water Resources Engineering.
- Demonstrated expertise in HEC-HMS and HEC-RAS (1D/2D) modelling applications.
- Bachelor’s degree (BE/BTech) in Civil Engineering.
- Proficiency in ArcGIS/QGIS, geospatial analysis, DEM processing, terrain modelling, and flood mapping.
- Strong experience in model development, calibration, validation, and interpretation.
- Experience leading technical project delivery and coordinating multidisciplinary engineering teams.
- Master’s degree (ME/MTech) in Water Resources Engineering, Hydrology, Hydraulic Engineering, or related discipline.
