Service Engineer

Overview

The Service Engineer ensures scheduled/unscheduled maintenance, Heavy Maintenance, and wreck repair of 4500 HP and 6000 HP locomotives within timelines, cost, quality, and documentation.

What you'll do

• Provide direction for maintenance activities for locomotives while meeting timelines, cost, and quality.
• Perform activities to maintain scheduled/unscheduled maintenance, Heavy Maintenance, and wreck repair.
• Ensure adherence to work scopes.
• Encourage and maintain a safe work environment.
• Maintain clean and orderly work areas.
• Ensure compliance with local regulations and local customer safety policies.

What you'll need

• BE/B.Tech in Engineering or Diploma applicable technical training.
• 7–12 years of applicable operations experience in locomotive maintenance and/or transportation/rolling stock equipment.
• Willingness to work in 24x7 operations with different shifts and various days.
• Experience in Microsoft Office applications.
• Ability to work in a shop environment.
• Prior experience in the transportation industry.

Nice to have

• Technical experience working on rolling stock products such as engines, bogies, brake systems, traction motors, and control systems.
• Ability to analyze and troubleshoot faults in locomotive running and oversee specific job works.
• Comfort with learning and adopting IT systems for monitoring and maintaining locomotives.
• Ability to promote safe and environmentally compliant work practices.
