Site Reliability Engineer

Overview

The Site Reliability Engineer I (SRE I) ensures production services stay available, scalable, and efficient on Google Cloud Platform.

What you'll do

• Deploy, roll back, and manage containerized application lifecycles using ArgoCD workflows.
• Investigate, troubleshoot, and resolve infrastructure and OS-level alerts as first-line defense.
• Diagnose connectivity and latency issues across network layers, isolating problems between cloud VPCs and Kubernetes overlays.
• Diagnose OS bottlenecks on GKE worker nodes including CPU throttling, memory leaks, and storage constraints.
• Use AIOps tools to interpret correlated events and automated root-cause insights.
• Participate in on-call rotations and mitigate production container incidents using Grafana dashboards and AIOps suggestions.

What you'll need

• Practical experience with ArgoCD and Git version control for CI/CD and GitOps deployments.
• Comprehensive networking knowledge across OSI layers, including HTTP/S, DNS, gRPC, and SSL/TLS handshakes.
• Linux system knowledge (Ubuntu, Debian, or Container-Optimized OS) including internals and kernel parameters.
• Command-line diagnostic tool proficiency (e.g., tcpdump, curl, dig, traceroute, top, iostat).
• Foundational Grafana Labs observability experience (Grafana, Mimir/Prometheus, Loki, Tempo).
• Functional knowledge of deploying and managing workloads in GKE.

Nice to have

• Anomaly detection concepts and log-based ML models.

• Location is India with a flexible hybrid work model: work from the Bangalore office for 20 days in a quarter.
