Software Asset Management (SAM) Specialist

Overview

Finastra is seeking a Software Asset Management Specialist to manage licensing compliance, software discovery, SAM tool administration, integrations, and optimization across its software estate.

What you'll do

• Perform license compliance, reconciliation, optimization, and audit support activities.
• Analyse licensing and entitlements across Microsoft, Oracle, IBM, Red Hat, and other publishers.
• Develop Effective License Positions and identify compliance risks and optimization opportunities.
• Configure, administer, and troubleshoot discovery and inventory solutions.
• Integrate SAM platforms with SCCM/MECM, Intune, Active Directory, CMDBs, procurement systems, Azure, and AWS.
• Develop workflows, scripts, automation, APIs, business rules, and data transformations.
• Create dashboards, reports, KPIs, and executive compliance reporting.

What you'll need

• At least 4 years of experience in Software Asset Management, IT Asset Management, or software licensing.
• Knowledge of user-, device-, core-, processor-, subscription-, SaaS-, virtualization-, and cloud-based licensing models.
• Experience with SAM and discovery platforms including ServiceNow SAM Pro, Flexera One, Snow Software, USU, Freshworks ITAM, Tanium, or Lansweeper.
• Hands-on experience with discovery tools, inventory management, integrations, APIs, workflow automation, and customization.
• Experience with data mapping, normalization, reconciliation, software compliance, and audit management.
• Knowledge of Windows, Linux, VMware, Azure, AWS, and cloud-hosted software environments.
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and stakeholder management skills.

• ServiceNow SAM Professional Certification.
• Flexera Certification.
• IAITAM CSAM or CHAMP certification.
• ITIL Foundation certification.
• Experience supporting software audits, true-ups, and publisher negotiations.
