Software Development Developer II

Overview

Software Development Developer II (Software Development Engineering – High Tech) focused on developing multiple categories of software, including end-user applications and operating systems/utility software.

What you'll do

• Conduct requirements gathering and analysis for software functionality, interfaces between hardware and software, and software characteristics.
• Write software code using programming, scripting, and/or database languages.
• Support software testing, deployment, maintenance, and evolution, including bug fixing and enhancements.
• Apply software development best practices across coding standards, code reviews, source control, build processes, and testing/operations.
• Execute specialized projects and initiate own workload according to set principles.
• Oversee short-term team activities and operational-scope decisions; may supervise less experienced professionals.

What you'll need

• Comprehensive knowledge of the specific discipline or broader area in which the position operates.
• Expertise applying software development best practices (coding standards, code reviews, source control, build processes, testing, and operations).
• Experience with requirements gathering and analysis for domain and software characteristics.
• Ability to use programming, scripting, and/or database languages to write code.
• Experience supporting testing, deployment, maintenance, and software evolution activities.
