Software Development Engineer-1

Overview

Software Engineer II (Benefits Engineering) to build and improve employer benefits technology, partnering with Product Managers and customers.

What you'll do

• Collaborate with stakeholders to understand customers’ biggest challenges.
• Measure, inspect, and use data to drive decisions.
• Design, test, code, and instrument new solutions.
• Apply engineering practices including TDD and BDD, and microservice/vertical slice architectures.
• Support live applications with monitoring and rapid incident response.
• Analyze existing systems to identify bottlenecks and opportunities.

What you'll need

• At least 3 years of software engineering experience.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science/Software Engineering (or equivalent experience).
• Strong problem-solving skills plus excellent communication and collaboration.
• Experience building and consuming REST APIs.
• Technology must-haves including C# and modern RDBMS (MS SQL/Postgres/MySQL).
• ASP.NET RESTful API design and modern Web UI frameworks/libraries (Angular/React).

Nice to have

• Experience with Kubernetes, Helm/ArgoCD, Terraform, or GitHub Actions.
• Knowledge of NoSQL databases, GraphQL, and/or Azure.
• Exposure to Docker, Kafka, and event-driven design.
