Software Development Engineer 2

Overview

Software Development Engineer 2 (L2) for Twilio’s Voice Connectivity Trust team, focused on reliable voice communication for Voice customers.

What you'll do

• Design and implement real-time services with high-throughput, low-latency needs.
• Participate across the software development lifecycle from requirements and design to deployment and on-call support.
• Collaborate with Product Managers for requirements gathering and with stakeholders to understand customer needs.
• Develop simple, robust, and scalable solutions for voice customer problems.
• Scale and maintain services in a distributed production environment using Agile methodologies.
• Operate and maintain owned team services in production.

What you'll need

• 2+ years of hands-on experience with large-scale distributed applications on JVM-based technologies.
• Experience building RESTful services, API design, and event-driven architectures (Kafka, SQS).
• Understanding of CI/CD pipelines.
• Hands-on experience with cloud infrastructures such as AWS, GCP, OpenStack, or Azure.
• Strong Java fundamentals for architecting, reviewing, and debugging code.
• Excellent written communication skills for technical documentation.
