Software Development Engineer – C/C++ | Linux | Networking Protocols | Layer 2/Layer 3

Overview

Software Development Engineer for C/C++ systems and Linux work on SD-WAN/edge routing platform software, including forwarding plane and Layer 2 protocol features.

What you'll do

• Develop and evolve forwarding and platform software for SD-WAN and edge routing solutions.
• Collaborate with hardware teams on new platform bring-up, low-level drivers, and NIM integration.
• Design, implement, and maintain ROMMON and bootloader software for secure initialization.
• Build and tune high-performance forwarding plane software for secure routing environments.
• Implement and optimize Layer 2 networking protocols and features in the platform stack.
• Debug performance bottlenecks across kernel and hardware-abstraction layers.
• Use modern workflows including AI-assisted coding tools and IDEs to improve development efficiency and code quality.

What you'll need

• 8-12 years of industry experience with end-to-end software development in networking.
• Experience across system software, kernel/user-space drivers, bootloaders, BIOS, and performance tuning.
• Strong proficiency in C/C++ for systems programming on Linux environments.
• Proven experience developing device drivers and working with RTOS/Linux kernels.
• Understanding of routing architectures and Layer 2 networking protocols (e.g., Ethernet, VLANs, STP).
• Experience with bootloaders (ROMMON), hardware bring-up, and BSP.

Nice to have

• Knowledge of high-speed interfaces (PHY, MAC, MACSEC) and DPDK.
• Debugging experience with i2c trace analysers and PCIe.
