Software Development Engineer in Test

Overview

Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET) on the Cloud Platform team, focused on automated testing for foundational cloud services and APIs.

What you'll do

• Design, develop, and maintain automated tests and test frameworks for cloud platform services and APIs.
• Build API, integration, contract, regression, system, and end-to-end tests for distributed services.
• Test platform behaviors including data integrity, asynchronous workflows, service interactions, authentication/authorization, and failure scenarios.
• Build performance, scalability, and reliability tests for critical platform services.
• Integrate automated tests and quality gates into CI/CD pipelines for fast feedback.
• Investigate distributed-system failures using logs, metrics, traces, and diagnostics.

What you'll need

• 5+ years of experience in SDET, Quality Engineering, Software Engineering, or Test Automation roles.
• Strong programming skills in Java, Python, JavaScript/TypeScript, or another modern language.
• Hands-on experience building automated tests for REST APIs, microservices, and cloud-native applications.
• Experience with API, integration, regression, and system-level testing.
• Good understanding of distributed systems and testing challenges (asynchronous processing, retries, failures, service dependencies).
• Experience integrating automated tests into CI/CD using GitHub Actions, Jenkins, GitLab CI, or equivalent.
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
