Overview
Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET) role on a product engineering pod, combining hands-on manual testing with test automation to keep feature and regression coverage reliable across backend services and the mobile app.
What you'll do
- Maintain, stabilize, and extend existing BVT and regression automation suites across backend services and the mobile app.
- Triage flaky tests, fix breakages, and improve suite reliability.
- Build in-sprint automation by converting prioritized feature and regression test cases into automated coverage.
- Perform day-to-day manual testing, including feature and sprint testing, BVT execution, regression, and exploratory testing.
- Provide timely release feedback and sign-off.
- Maintain QA tooling and test infrastructure, including test data, test environments, and reporting, so the pod can test without delays.
- Keep automated tests running in CI/CD pipelines, investigate failures, identify root causes, and report clear, reproducible defects.
- Partner with developers on API and integration checks to identify issues earlier in the development cycle.
- Use AI tools such as Claude, Cursor, Copilot, and other LLM-based tools to support test authoring, debugging, and maintenance.
- Keep test cases, suites, and documentation current, and contribute reusable utilities that reduce ongoing maintenance.

- 3–6 years of experience in SDET roles, with a blend of manual testing and test automation.
- Hands-on programming experience in at least one language, such as Java, Python, or JavaScript.
- Experience writing, maintaining, and extending tests within an existing automation framework for UI, API, integration, or backend testing.
- Strong manual testing fundamentals across functional, regression, system, end-to-end, exploratory, and BVT testing.
- Experience testing features within an Agile or Scrum sprint cycle.
- Practical exposure to CI/CD test integration using tools such as Jenkins or GitHub Actions.
- Good debugging and root-cause analysis skills, including the ability to triage test failures and flaky tests.
- Working knowledge of test data management and test environment upkeep.
- Experience using AI tools to support test creation, expand coverage, or accelerate debugging.
- Clear written communication, especially when documenting reproducible defects, and the ability to collaborate effectively within a pod or Scrum team.
