Software Development Manager

Overview

Lead a software development team responsible for delivering quality software and meeting assigned business goals. The role combines people leadership, technical guidance, Agile collaboration, and delivery ownership.

What you'll do

• Lead a team developing quality software.
• Provide training, guidance, mentorship, and constructive feedback.
• Participate in Agile meetings and contribute to development strategies and product roadmaps.
• Ensure team processes are followed and support quality code deployments.
• Set expectations, conduct weekly one-on-ones, and plan team-member growth.
• Drive large projects through delivery and coordinate work across multiple components.
• Provide technical leadership on architecture, code reviews, and software design.

What you'll need

• 7+ years of software development experience.
• 2+ years of experience leading a development team.
• Fluency in Java or a similar object-oriented language.
• Knowledge of object-oriented design, data structures, and algorithms.
• Experience implementing and consuming large-scale web services.
• Knowledge of software engineering best practices across the full development lifecycle.
• Strong problem-solving, communication, conflict-resolution, and consensus-building skills.

Nice to have

• Experience with relational and NoSQL databases.
• Experience building highly scalable distributed software systems.
• Professional experience with AWS, Azure, or GCP.
• Experience taking projects from requirements scoping through launch.
