Software Development Manager

Overview

Software Development Manager role leading an engineering team responsible for building shareable, reusable components used by Autodesk desktop products.

What you'll do

• Lead, mentor, and grow a team of software engineers across backend, full-stack, and platform domains.
• Provide technical guidance and architectural oversight for backend services, full-stack applications, and distributed systems.
• Drive delivery of high-quality software using agile development practices.
• Ensure reliable production systems through operational excellence, monitoring, and incident management.
• Collaborate with Product Management to translate requirements into engineering roadmaps and execution plans.
• Enable data-driven and AI-enabled features using modern data platforms and machine learning capabilities.

What you'll need

• 10+ years of software development experience.
• 2–4 years in an engineering leadership or management role.
• Experience building scalable distributed systems and cloud-native applications.
• Hands-on expertise with C++, Node.js, and TypeScript.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science or a related technical field.
