Software Engineer 2 - AI Transformation Engineering

Overview

Software Engineer II on the AI Transformation Engineering team to build Abnormal AI’s internal AI platform (“Nora”). The role focuses on shipping platform services, connectors, and infrastructure that enable AI workflows across internal record-keeping and operational systems.

What you'll do

• Build and ship the Nora platform services, factories, and sandboxes for internal AI workflow deployment.
• Own platform components end-to-end.
• Develop connectors, integrations, and services that bring AI into record-keeping and operational systems.
• Stand up net-new infrastructure by spec’ing, shipping, and hardening new platform capabilities.
• Design for handoff by writing docs, defining SLOs, and selecting a next owner before shipping.
• Deliver measurable outcomes tied to business impact (e.g., revenue, cost saved, hours returned, or unblocked capabilities).

What you'll need

• 3+ years of professional experience in software development.
• Strong backend experience with Python.
• Fluency with the AI development stack including Claude, Codex, Gemini, Anthropic APIs, and OpenAI APIs.
• Knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure) and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes).
• Strong fundamentals in computer science, distributed systems, and performance optimization.
• Experience shipping platform APIs/services/SDKs other teams can build on.
• Ability to work with operator stakeholders to align platform design to real workflows.
